The Growing Construction Industry in Ireland
The Construction industry is currently booming in Ireland. As of April this year the crane count in Dublin stood at 117 a slight drop on March with 123. A strong expansion is being seen in both commercial and residential builds. As of May this year planning application has been submitted for a further 1200 apartments. Dublin and Kildare are benefitting from these recent applications. Waterford is looking to develop a further 1000 units in the next 3 years. Cork is looking at a further 1200 units in the next 2 years. Other notable construction projects from around Ireland include;
- €500m data centre in Arklow

- €55m Housing Development in Kildare
Above is only a small range of some of the projects which are underway or due to start. Another important project which has gone to the design stage, is the M20 Motorway between Cork to Limerick. This will benefit the region dramatically with a total estimated spend of over €850m. It will bring over 1000 jobs to the area from 2022 to 2027. This is a very promising outlook for construction workers nationwide.
