The annual FRS Recruitment Summer Party was held on June 15 in Glasson Lakehouse, Westmeath. The bar was set high by last years’ event in Killarney, but 2022 proved to be equally as interactive and entertaining. It was the perfect opportunity for new hires to meet with the self-proclaimed “OGs”, and for everyone to come together to celebrate FRS Recruitment’s successes so far in 2022.

The venue was an idyllic setting for any team day, with stunning views of the local lakes and countryside coupled with the modernised 18th-century lake house hotel itself. General Manager, Lynne McCormack, opened the morning with a summary of the high performance and achievements of the company throughout the first half of the year. She spoke particularly about the appreciation of all the hard work done by the recruiters, the continuing success of the academy programme, highlighting some recent and well-deserved promotions in the business, a summary of the company performance, and a note on employee engagement and community-based initiatives with the upcoming Give Back Day planned for September.

We were also reminded of the recently launched Home Truths campaign, with a focus on the Sinking Pub, the Remote Working Hub/Pub, and the world’s largest sports air drome (just outside Knock!).

The guest speaker on the day was Shane O’ Sullivan, Waterford hurler and Executive of Inspiring Excellence. He provided a unique insight into what constitutes a high-performance team, with an interesting account of where his own motivations and values came from. Shane shared his own home truth with us, noting that his personal and professional success would not have occurred without the influence of his father. He spoke about the power of our individual stories and indicated the “abundance mentality” associated with successful teams like FRS.

Following a break for lunch, the afternoon was a chance for everyone to show off their competitive side with a game of baseball golf. Those teams that were knocked out of the competition early enjoyed some well-deserved refreshments (and later took their anger out at the driving range!). In the end, it came down to two fierce teams to fight for the bragging rights - the real winners were the spectators, who got to witness what can only be described as the most hard-fought team-day baseball golf final in 2022!

An evening drinks reception was followed by a summer garden party-themed dinner, with a local trad band belting it out into the small hours. Overall, the day was a huge success. Although many of the staff had never met in person, the whole FRS team came together in the same spirit spoken about earlier that morning, leaving everyone looking forward to the next team day!
