How did your journey with FRS Recruitment begin?

In May 2017 I was sitting in the library in UL when I seen an advert for FRS Recruitment for a role as a clerical officer. I secured an interview with Niamh Kavanagh. Niamh and I spoke about a career in Recruitment, something I had never thought about before. I got the job and I am so glad I did, I love it.

What is the most rewarding aspect about your role?

The most rewarding thing is certainly seeing the clients happy with the candidates I place the roles while also seeing the candidates happy, landing their dream job. Matching a candidate with the role they wanted and happy is one of the best and most rewarding moments as a recruiter.

What are some of the challenges within your role?

Certainly Covid 19 and the Pandemic has been one of the biggest challenges. Working from home was difficult to adapt to in the beginning. However a negative soon turned into a positive as FRS Recruitment was able to provide frontline workers to fight Covid 19 including nurses, vaccination centres, testing centres etc. It was a difficult challenges however we managed to turn it into an opportunity.

What did you study in college before becoming a recruiter?

I have a Business Studies with Economics and Finance degree from University of Limerick. The degree has a 9 month work placement which helped me gain employment with FRS Recruitment.

If you had to give new recruiters a piece of advice, what would it be?

I myself was a junior recruiter, just three weeks out of college. FRS Recruitment give you the opportunity to grow your career. If I had a piece of advice it would be to take advantage of these opportunities and use them to advance your career.
