With all that has been restricted and distanced the past 18 months, recently the FRS Recruitment team, alongside the Best Newcomers Get The Shifts, joined each other once again at the end of September to meet the friendly faces that have been working in kitchens, cars and living room tables to safely greet and finally meet in person at Muckross Hotel and Spa, in the Kingdom of Kerry, for our fun-filled #teamday.

Graciously welcomed by FRS painted cupcakes, hot coffee and the delightful staff, there was an air of eagerness and excitement while we all chatted and got to know each other before our day kicked off. We saw people arrive by planes, trains, and automobiles from all over the country and it was clear from the start that they couldn’t be happier to see one another. It’s not surprising after seeing the work they’ve all managed to get done!

It wasn’t the free condiments or the nice rooms that people were excited for. It was so clear that what we were all really there for was exactly what FRS is known for, its people.” – Chris Wynne, Junior Recruitment Consultant.

Incoming CEO, Colin Donnery, presented the wonderful achievements of all the teams to kick start the day followed by a masterclass interview with GAA superstar and GAAGO Brand Ambassador Bríd Stack. Along with laughter and insight, resilience and commitment were the stand-alone takeaways that we were all able to resonate with given the past 18 months. Leadership and integrity came through also, something promoted outstandingly throughout FRS Recruitment and its co-operative partners.

And the games began! FRS organized a fun-fuelled interactive adventure through the surrounding Killarney National Park where teams competed (some more than others!) to visit landmarks, answer trivia and record some questionable attempts at movie and TV re-enactments. Some have called this bonding and exciting exercise the best facet of the #Teamday. The weather couldn’t keep us down!

And finally, the awards. The various teams within FRS Recruitment didn’t just get a pat on the back for the hard work they’ve managed to do, but an energetic ceremony celebrating all the exceeded targets and developed teamwork over the past year. Nominations and awards for ‘Best Teamwork’ went to our Life Engineering division and the ‘Collaborative Team of the Year’ went to our Commercial team. Both well deserved! The Temp Team took home the ‘Best New Business’ award with the ‘Best Customer Service’ award going straight to our Agri Team. Lots more awards were presented across all divisions, a reflection of the resilience and determination of the FRS Network.

See what some our colleagues had to say about the day:

I found that it was amazing to be able to come into a new company and not feel like a stranger. Everyone was really open to conversation. The atmosphere at the gathering was something I missed massively from my last place of work.“- Freddie Tindall, Junior Recruitment Consultant
